How To Save Presentation in PowerPoint
Introduction
When you create a new presentation in PowerPoint, you must know how to save it so that you can access and edit it later. You can save files to your computer, just like in previous versions of PowerPoint. If you'd like, you can also use OneDrive to store files in the cloud.
Save: To save your changes when creating or editing a presentation, use the Save command. This command will be used the majority of the time. The first time you save a file, you'll only need to specify a file name and location. Then, simply click the Save command to save it with the same name and location.
Save As: Use this command to make a duplicate of a presentation while keeping the original. When you use Save As, you must specify a new name and/or location for the copied version.
On the Quick Access Toolbar, locate and select the Save command.
When you save a file for the first time, the Save As pane appears in Backstage view.
You must then specify where you want to save the file and give it a name. Select a location on your computer by clicking Browse. You can also save the file to your OneDrive by clicking OneDrive.
The Save As dialogue box will be displayed. Choose where you want the presentation to be saved.
Give the presentation a name, then click Save.
The presentation is being saved. You can save your changes as you make changes to the presentation by clicking the Save command again.
You can also access the Save command on your keyboard by pressing Ctrl+S.
Save and Save As

To save a presentation
When you begin a new project or make changes to an existing one, it is critical to save your presentation. Saving early and frequently can help you avoid losing your work. You should also pay close attention to where you save the presentation so that it can be easily found later.On the Quick Access Toolbar, locate and select the Save command.

To export a presentation
- Access Backstage view by clicking the File tab.
- Select the desired option after clicking Export. In this example, we'll choose Change File Type.
- Choose a file type and then click Save As.
- The Save As dialogue box will be displayed. Choose where you want to save the presentation, enter a filec name, and then click Save.
- You an also save presentations in a variety of file types by using the Save as type drop-down menu in the Save As dialogue box. Choose a file type that others will be able to open.
